Getting to Penha
By air
Navegantes International Airport is about 11.7 km from the apartment. It serves the northern coast of Santa Catarina and is the obvious choice for anyone coming for Beto Carrero World. The drive here is short and direct.
Coming from outside Brazil, the usual routing is an international flight into São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or Florianópolis, then a domestic connection to Navegantes. Florianópolis is also a sensible arrival point in its own right: it has more international connections and is around ninety minutes away by car.

By car
The region is served by the BR-101, the main highway along the Brazilian coast.
- Balneário Camboriú: under 30 minutes.
- Joinville: just over an hour.
- Florianópolis: around 1h30.
- Curitiba: 2h30 to 3h.
- São Paulo: roughly 7 to 8 hours.
Two local notes. The BR-101 slows considerably through the northern coastal stretch over New Year and on long weekends, so travel outside peak hours if you can. And mapping apps sometimes suggest shortcuts through local roads that do not actually save time on a busy day.
Driving in Brazil as a visitor
An international driving permit alongside your national licence is the safe combination. Tolls on the BR-101 accept cash and cards. Fuel stations are frequent along the coastal stretch.
By bus
Long-distance coaches serve the region, connecting through the larger coastal cities. It works, but for a family with children and luggage, flying plus a hire car is usually more practical.
Arriving at the apartment
Entry is by keypad code. You do not need to agree a time with anyone or collect keys from a desk — which is what matters when a flight is delayed or the drive takes longer than you expected. I send the code and access instructions before your check-in.
Once you are here, on foot
From the building door to the sand is about 250 metres. The supermarket and bakery are also a few minutes' walk. In practice, after parking on arrival, most guests only use the car again to go to the park.

Balneário Camboriú is under thirty minutes, which makes it an easy day trip. Florianópolis is around an hour and a half. Curitiba is two and a half to three hours.
How does arrival at the apartment work?
Entry is by keypad code, with no physical key and no need to meet anyone at a fixed time. That solves delayed flights and drives that take longer than expected, which is the most common arrival problem.
